Plug in the Orville Redenbacher Hot Air Corn Popper and the party begins. In less than 2-1/2 minutes you’ll have up to 18 cups--two large bowlfuls--of fluffy popcorn with virtually no unpopped kernels. And because the machine uses hot air instead of oil, the resulting snack is healthier and lower in calories. That’s not to say you can’t add butter; in fact, the 1/2-cup measuring cup on top of the popper doubles as a butter melter. Simply put in the desired amount of margarine or butter (room temperature is best), and it melts from the heat produced during the popping process. The clear plastic cover and cup, which must stay on during popping so the popped corn doesn’t fly all over the room, easily remove for hand cleaning with warm, soapy water. No other clean-up is required. While a few unpopped kernels spring out the chute as the machine begins to heats up, the chute does a good job of directing the popped corn into a bowl. The popper measures 14 by 9 by 6-1/2 inches, and is identical to Presto’s PopLite Hot Air Corn Popper except for color and logo. Presto covers the popper with a two-year warranty. --Ann Bieri Read more...

Sized to fit most microwave ovens, including compacts, this popcorn maker pops virtually every kernel of 3 quarts of popcorn in about 2-1/2 minutes. And it works with or without oil and/or salt. That means no more of the unpopped, scorched kernels typically left behind when popping bagged corn.

The popcorn maker uses two innovations that concentrate microwave radiation onto the popcorn. First is a removable base that locks onto the transparent bowl. Second is a disposable paper cup that fits into the bowl's bottom. A package of eight cups accompanies the unit, and others can be purchased separately--each is good for about 12 batches when used with oil or 24 without oil. Both bowl and lid are dishwasher-safe. The popcorn maker is 9-3/4 inches in diameter and 6 inches high and carries a two-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack Read more...

This is probably the first toy that (no pun intended) pops into your mind when you hear the name Fisher-Price. Maybe this will jar your memory: the Push Toy Corn Popper has a long, blue handle (well, "long" if you're 3 years old), and rolls along on two brightly colored red/orange wheels while making great popping sounds as it bounces brightly colored balls inside a clear plastic bubble that's mounted above the wheels. So much for the technical specifications. There must be some unwritten law that every toddler has to have one of these. And with good reason. They're still fun! --Chris Livesay Read more...

Abner Carey knwew popcorn held the secret to life | LEN WELLS COLUMN

Somewhere down in the basement, I believe I have a Dalby Popcorn Popper. If I'm not mistaken, it was invented by another Grayville entrepreneur back around 1907 and was most likely used by Ab Carey to make his daily batch of popcorn.

Roast Coffee at Home in a Popcorn Popper for Savings, Variety, and Fun

Not all air popcorn poppers are recommended for this. Hot air is supposed to come into the chamber through the sides, not the bottom. Sweet Maria's has a list of popcorn popper models that have been said to work well. I've used the West Bend Poppery II

Home Roasting part 2

The hard part is trying to get consistent batches from the same beans using a cheap popper. Considering that a used popper will cost about $4 bucks and a new one will cost around $20, some variability in the roast is acceptable and should be expected.

Who moved my peeler?

It always used to live in the drawer between the silverware and the dish towels, right above the cabinet with the popcorn popper in it. A couple of weeks ago, I got the notion it would do better with a bunch of like-minded utensils a couple of drawers

Used Popcorn Machines Are Usually Just As Good As New | Rx Friend

by RXfriend

Just like used cars, used popcorn machines are good as new if they are properly maintained. If you can get yourself one from a company, which is renewing their appliances, you might end up getting a perfect machine to suit your needs better than you have ever expected a used appliance could.

Sometimes we even consider our old frying pan we used for making popcorns as one of those machines. It is not a machine but a frying pan. Then again, it has served its purpose over the years. Certainly it did. These days, there are a lot of varieties to choose from with regards to popcorn machines for sale .
